The Aganorsa Leaf Supreme Leaf marks the 9th or 10th release depending on how you count. There was one store exclusive for Wooden Indian in Pennsylvania. If you count the store exclusive the number is 10.
Those releases are; Supreme Leaf Robusto (5 x 52 / March 2020), Supreme Leaf Toro (6 x 54 / July 2020) Supreme Leaf Corona Gorda (6 x 46 / February 2021), Supreme Leaf Torpedo (6 x 54 / August 2021), Supreme Leaf Robusto (5 x 54 / February 2022), Supreme Leaf Toro (6 x 52 / February 2023), Supreme Leaf Perfecto (6 x 54 / December 2023), Supreme Leaf Gran Robusto Wooden Indian Exclusive (5 x 56 / February 2024) and today’s review Aganorsa Leaf Royal Perfecto (5 1/2 x 52 / April 2025).
According to Terence Reilly, who serves as VP of Sales & Marketing for Aganorsa Leaf “Demand for Supreme Leaf continues to grow and we are committed to releasing the same incredible blend in a new format with each release to showcase how each size creates a unique experience. The last Supreme Leaf Perfecto we launched in 2023 was a massive hit because of the distinctive complexity of flavor and aroma the tapered form offered. Our Aganorsa Acolytes consistently have requested the same special experience this perfecto offered but in a shorter Format. We listened and this elegant cigar delivers a subtle and focused first third, with the narrowed foot slowing airflow, followed by a rich and full- bodied middle third as the cigar reaches its widest point before tapering back down during the final third, the flavors concentrating again.”

The Cigar: The color combination of the packaging has always left something to be desired to me with its matte purple, yellow and orange that looks like it was created with MS-Paint. It’s grown on me over the year and it has become synonymous with one of the most anticipated cigar releases from Aganorsa Leaf and perhaps the industry. The Corojo ’99 wrapper has a network of veins that detracts slightly from the appearance along with some feint mottling to it as well and is loaded with oils. In the hand the cigar is firm with a hefty weight.
The Taste: The cold draw serves up notes of barnyard with cedar, hay and earth. There is a subtle raisin like sweetness that lingers in the background. The aroma from the wrapper and foot of the cigar is nutty with an abundance of cedar.
When it comes to a perfecto cigar the lighting of it is extremely important. I’ve witnessed a lot of people have there cigars run on them because the put the flame/torch too close to the foot and ignite the wrapper just above the nipple. A single jet is the best type of lighter for the vitola as it helps reduce user error.
Once the cigar lit the signature Supreme Leaf profile of red pepper flakes and some sweetness. Red pepper flakes pull back as we move into the thicker part of the cigar as notes of almonds and mocha begin to develop with a bold coffee finish. The retrohale bring added white and black pepper while increasing the perceived strength.
As we move into the second third almond remains with the hint of sourdough bread and a raisin sweetness. The finish of the cigar sees the addition of mochal while the retrohal continues to see bold expressions of black and white pepper though there is an underlying raisin sweetness if you retrohale slowly.
As we concluded our Aganorsa Leaf Supreme Leaf Royal Perfecto, notes of black and white pepper dominate the palate with elements of cedar and earth. Some of the sweetness from the first two thirds has disappeared on this Nicaraguan powerhouse that never ceases to satisfy.
Conclusion: The Supreme Leaf has becomes on the the most sought after limited production cigars on the market. I was hesitant about another perfecto release and my shoulders slumped when it was announced. But like the last prefecto release this cigar delivers the quintessential Aganorsa Leaf experience and showcases why the cigar is highly sought after. My only regret about this purchase is I didn’t purchase enough of them.
