Tatuaje T110 Corojo was part of a series of Corojo releases from Tatuaje Cigars. The line was originally released in 2009 for R. Field Wine, a cigar shop in Hawaii. The “Thermonuclear” 110 originally had an Ecuador Habano Maduro wrapper. It was at the time one of, if not the strongest cigar I had smoked to date.
The T110 would see more releases over the years including two in 2021 featuring a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper or Ecuador Sumata. In 2022 it would come out as part of TUXLA, featuring a San Andres wrapper.

The Cigar: Featuring the artist formerly known as Pete Johnson logo, the Tatuaje T110 sees a secondary band of mahogany and gold with accents of black. This limited edition isn’t as dark as I remember the original to be and the Corojo wrapper does have a noteworthy vein or two on the wrapper that detracts from the beauty of it. In the hand this densely packed cigar is firm to the touch which an average weight to it.
The Taste: The cold draw serves up an abundance of paprika with some subtle cashews and earth present. Meanwhile, prior to lighting the foot sees cedar with a subtle vanilla note providing a nice sweetness to contrast the draw.
Once the cigar is toasted and lit and we begin the journey of the Tatuaje T110 Corojo there is some spice to begin with nuances of cedar and mocha. The resting aroma of the cigar has some hearty spice which for a minute had me hesitant to retrohale. This turned out to be just, because in true T110 fashion the amount of cajun like spice on the retrohale is intense until you adapt.
Moving into the second third I am impressed by how the spice of the corojo wrapper intensifies this blend while also bring ing a sweetness to it. There is a subtle paprika and cajun along with a touch of mocha and cashews. I’ve adjusted to the retrohale though it is still loaded with cajun like spices that causes the eyes to water while intensifying the nuttiness.
The final third seems to mellow out some on the palate with notes of mocha, nuts and wood. The spice is relegated to the resting aroma and the retrohale where it is intense. Despite the heavy cajun spice there is also a touch of a floral component along with an elongated cedar finish.
Conclusion: The wrapper is responsible for the majority of flavor in a cigar so it is no surprise how much this one hits differently than the original. However, despite being different I can say I like it better than the memory I have of the original in terms of complexity. Also, everytime I smoke a Tatuaje I question why I have a website because if I didn’t 90% of what I smoke is Tatuaje. We all have our favorites, I get that, but for me, the brand hits on all levels. At the end of the day I judge a cigar shop by how many Tatuaje cigars they have on their shelf. In fact as I finalize this review, I have lit up a Tatuaje Fausto.
