La Aurora has announced the release of the 120 Aniversario Lancero starting this summer in the US market. Originally released as a part of the Limited Edition Lancero Collection, the La Aurora 120 Aniversario Lancero is an ode to their roots, from their distinctive Dominican tobacco totheir legacy that has spanned generations of the León family for over 120 years.
“The 120 Aniversario represents not only a major milestone for La Aurora, founded in 1903, but a major milestone for the La Aurora, USA business, as it was our first official launch as a new business entity and the line now represents one of our best-selling brands,” says Ed McKenna, La Aurora USA CEO. “We’re excited to offer the blend now in the Lancero vitola, as it is a format that our team in Santiago de Los Caballeros executes particularly well.“
With a cedar aroma, the first draw on La Aurora 120 Aniversario Lancero reveals smoky flavors of peppered cinnamon and anise. This medium/full body cigar has sweetness that enters the fold with a sweet cocoa and creamy coffee bean, soon evolving into a smooth vanilla finish. A flavor ride to the finish, 120 Lancero transitions to dry fruit and rich tropical notes, with subtle hints of wild honey and rich earth. The Dominican Republic wrapper and binder are filled with Dominican Republic fillers. With 750 boxes available on this initial run, it’s a unique opportunity to experience 120 years of La Aurora craftsmanship. The cigar is expected to hit retailers in mid-Summer (MSRP: $18).
“Entrusted to only our most seasoned rollers, the lancero is a format I have come to love due to the challenge in crafting each blend. Blender and Roller must work hand in hand to ensure a flawless product, and this collection defines the La Aurora brand and the quality for which it stands“, shares Manuel Ynoa, La Aurora Master Blender. “Furthermore, the lancero necessitates less filler, and as a result, each blend takes on a life of its own that differs in nuanced ways from the other formats in the line, making for a truly unique experience to share with others.”
